About Robert Matheson
Robert Matheson is a Scottish/Greek Composer and Multi-Instrumentalist from Edinburgh, Scotland. Educated in classical piano and cello performance and with a heavy Scottish traditional background, he graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a Bachelor's degree in Music in 2021.

His work includes the Pathways animation series in which he writes the original scores to animations by artist Michael Munro, as well as the in-progress musical theatre concept album Kingdom Panthera, which consists of elements of Scottish and African traditional music and led LOAF magazine to call it "a luscious soundscape that immerses the listener in another world". His debut orchestral EP, Midnight Visionary was released in December 2020 on all streaming platforms. In addition, Matheson writes original scores as freelance work which includes the full original soundtrack to DR4X, a video game by producer UntrustedLife which was released in January 2022 and Elsewhere, an independent short film made in 2023.

As a performer, Matheson has worked extensively in both Classical and Scottish Traditional performance. This includes 4 performances at the Edinburgh Street Party Hogmanay show Ceilidh Under the Castle where he has guest performed with Ceilidh band Hugh McDiarmid's Haircut alongside Scottish Traditional music Hall of Fame inductee Gary West. For 4 years, he was a member of the University of Aberdeen Symphony Orchestra cello section.
